The moon moves slowly, as all understanding does. Perspective arrives without hurry, but it arrives. I can’t sleep the next night in a row. My thoughts wander to my children, my husband, my father… and always, still, to my late mum. So many beautiful summers I had with her. She was an adventurous lady — brave in quiet ways — and even from behind the iron curtain she somehow managed to travel abroad and show us a little piece of the world.
