A parable about wakefulness, duty, and the quiet truths found when the world is asleep. Night opens the sky, and thought shifts into honesty. The stars keep their distance, teaching us ours. The moon moves slowly, as all understanding does. Perspective arrives without hurry, but it arrives. I can’t sleep the next night in a row. My thoughts wander to my children, my husband, my father… and always, still, to my late mum. So many beautiful summers I had with her. She was an adventurous lady — brave in quiet ways — and even from behind the iron curtain she somehow managed to travel abroad and show us a little piece of the world. She taught me something simple: "When you can’t sleep, don’t let your mind spiral into worries. Tell a story instead. Write something. Give your thoughts a place to land." So I do.
